Pentecost 17: Tuesday, 5 September 2006
Matins outside early. Have decided to go to Haiti, November 14-21. It's okay with June; in fact, she encourages me. Perhaps need to update beneficiaries documents. Weeded front garden and cut shrubs; sweaty. Saw a female velvet ant on the driveway.
Welcome to this blog! I am currently president of Grace Missions, Inc. a 501(c) 3 charitable organization dedicated to two ministries:
(1) the care of twenty-five orphans and/or abandoned girls living at Chez Moi, an orphanage in Port-au-Prince,Haiti.
(2) the university education of four students, three of whom are studying to become medical doctors; the fourth a diplomate in service to the country of Haiti.
Retired from teaching at Eastern Kentucky University, I'm a Foundation Professor Emeritus in the Department of English and Theatre.
I have a strong interest in contemplative living, Koine Greek, Biblical theology, the desert Ammas and Abbas, the prayer life of the Church, mysteries as novels, classical and current cinema, and photography.
